It all began several years ago in Chris and Lin Lane’s
backyard in rural Perrysburg, Ohio.
The Lanes always enjoyed entertaining and cooking for
their friends and family…especially firing up the grill
for a good ol’ country BBQ. It wasn’t long before they
began creating and making their own sauces, which were
an instant hit with their guests.
From those humble beginnings, they began doing BBQs for
birthdays, graduations and even wedding receptions –
always using their own signature sauces.
Soon, family and friends began encouraging them to bottle
their special sauces for the commercial market, and after
much deliberation, in 2011, Country Lane BBQ was born.
Their two sauces, Sweet Apple Pepper and Pineapple Chipotle
quickly became featured in many local food stores, country
markets and several area fairs and festivals.
The highlight of their first year came in August when in a
leap of faith, the couple loaded their pick up truck with
equipment, supplies and their Pineapple Chipotle sauce and
drove to the Ohio State Fair Rib-Off in Columbus, Ohio.
Although they were the only non-restaurant entry in the
competition, the judges awarded Country Lane BBQ’s 9 of 10
possible points for their sauce, 8 of 10 for their ribs and
encouraging feedback that ensures their return to the
competition in 2012.
Today, Chris and Lin Lane are determined to expand their
market by making their products available at more locations
both locally and across the country.
